Where is the institute located?
ARIBAS is located at a lush green New Vidyanagar campus, which is
situated behind GIDC, Vitthal Udyognagar, 11 kms away from Anand
railway station. New Vidyanagar is an academic town managed by
Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) with various institutes like ARIBAS (Biotechnololgy
and Allied Sciences), ADIT (Engineering), IICP (Pharmacy), GJPAC (Ayurveda),
ICCT (Women's Engineering), ITC (Industrial Training) and few
proposed institutions.
Which are the courses offered at the institute?
The institute offers a 5 ½ years M. Sc. Integrated Biotechnology
course after Std. XII. There are 4 Post Graduate courses running at
the institute, viz. M. Sc. – Biotechnology, M. Sc. – Microbiology,
M. Sc.- Pharmaceutical Chemistry and M. Sc. - Genetics.
What is the admission procedure?
The admission forms for all the courses are available at the
institute administration office. The duly filled in admission forms
are to be submitted at the institute, along with the required
testimonials and the selected candidates will be communicated. There
is no entrance test or interview for any of these courses.
How are the branches in M. Sc. – Integrated Biotechnology programme
selected?
M .Sc. Integrated Biotechnology bifurcates from Semester-VII onwards,
into four branches viz. Industrial Biotechnology, Medical
Biotechnology, General Biotechnology and Environmental
Biotechnology. The branches are allotted as per the merit achieved
till Semester-V.
Are the courses approved by university?
ARIBAS is affiliated to Sardar Patel University (Four Star
Accredited by NAAC) since its inception in June 2005. The syllabus
structure and all courses are approved by Sardar Patel University
and revised periodically. The degree certificates are awarded by
Sardar Patel University.
What are the details of hostel facilities at the campus?
The institute possesses separate hostel blocks for Boys and Girls
with security guards at each block. The rooms are provided along
with basic necessities like Cot, Chair, Study table and Cupboard.
The Block Superintendents take care of the students and facilities
given to them. The lodging/mess facility is available for all the
hostelites within the campus.
What are the major expenses incurred by the student?
For M. Sc. – Integrated Biotechnology admissions, Annual fee: Rs.
60,000/- For students staying at the Hostels - Hostel fee : Rs.
13,500/- Mess fee : Rs. 15,000/- (approx). The nominal fees like
University Exam fee, Krupa Healthcare fee, Journal charges etc. are
liable to be incurred.
What are the academic facilities available at ARIBAS?
ARIBAS holds a treasure of highly qualified Faculty members, each of
them with Ph.D. degree or pursuing for the same. Along with regular
academics, extra-curriculum activities are programmed by the guidance
of our Director – Dr. Pradip Patel, who continuously ignites the
research activities amongst students as well as faculties. A
spacious Library facility provides an immense collection of
curriculum, Reference books, Periodicals, Magazines and Journals in
various disciplines. The institute infrastructure is full furnished
with basic amenities like classrooms, Seminar rooms, well equipped
labs and internet facility.
